Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford insists that trophies will always be more important than individual success.

Marcus Rashford has insisted that trophies will always be more important than individual success, as the forward bids to help Manchester United win a domestic cup double this term.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 29 goals and registering 11 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford has already helped Man United win one trophy this term - the EFL Cup - while Erik ten Hag's side will take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final at the start of June.

The Red Devils are also on course to return to the Champions League for next season, currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table, four points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool with two games in hand.

Rashford has said that this is individually his best season at Old Trafford, but the forward has insisted that the success of the team will always be more important.

"Individually, yes (his best season). But the year when Jose [Mourinho] was here, we won three trophies. For me, it's about the trophies," Rashford told Premier League Productions.

"We've got the opportunity to secure Champions League football and the big one is to win another piece of silverware. That's what we're going to try to do. So that's what the aim is now.

"It's probably more contributions [than goals]. I'm not fixed on just scoring goals. I love scoring goals, but I enjoy playing with my teammates.

"I want to get assists to help with the link-up, how we build up, and just try to be a better player, trying to improve as a player. And it's not always just goals that makes you a good player."

Man United will be aiming to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot in the Premier League table when they head to Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday night.

Rashford, however, is expecting a "very complicated game" against the Seagulls, who are eighth in the table, just two points behind sixth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with three games in hand.

"I think nothing changes for us. We want to get the three points at Brighton but it's a tough game. They're probably one of the best teams in the league in possession," Rashford added.

"So yeah, we're expecting a tough game and I'm pretty sure it will be, but we're going to go there and do our best to win. It's a very complicated game. So we just have to make sure we're well prepared and give it our best shot."

Man United overcame Brighton on penalties in the semi-final of the FA Cup on April 23, but they have lost their last two league games against the Seagulls, including a 2-1 reverse at Old Trafford earlier this season.
