Ralf Rangnick is not among the candidates for the permanent manager's job at Manchester United, according to a report.

Manchester United reportedly have no plans to hand Ralf Rangnick the manager's job on a permanent basis.

The 63-year-old took over for the remainder of the season following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's exit and is due to move into a two-year consultancy role in the summer.

Man United have enjoyed a positive set of results under Rangnick's tutelage, leading to suggestions that he could be handed the reins for future seasons.

However, Forbes claims that Man United - who have now officially started the process to find Solskjaer's successor - are not considering Rangnick as a candidate for the permanent job.

Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are thought to be the Red Devils' two leading candidates for the job, although Real Madrid could reportedly rival Man United for the former's services.

Rangnick has won eight of his 15 games in charge of the Red Devils in all competitions and has only suffered two defeats with the 20-time English champions so far.
