Pekerman: 'I want Falcao to be happy'

Colombia coach Jose Pekerman has refused to give his opinion on Radamel Falcao's Manchester United future, but has insisted that he wants the striker to be "happy".

The 29-year-old has scored just four times in 19 Premier League appearances since his move to Old Trafford from Monaco in September on a season-long loan.

Widespread reports have claimed that the forward will leave United when the campaign comes to a close, but Pekerman will not be giving the Colombian any advice.

"If Falcao leaves Manchester United it is a personal decision," FourFourTwo quotes Pekerman as saying. "I'm not the right person to have a say on this matter. I always want him to be happy. He is an experienced player, intelligent."

In contrast to Falcao's league form, the forward equalled Colombia's all-time goalscoring record by netting a 24th in a 3-1 win over Kuwait on Monday.

The goal was his third in four days.
