Paul Scholes: 'New Manchester United signings making all the difference'

Paul Scholes believes that the "quality signings" made by new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho are already starting to pay dividends.

Paul Scholes has claimed that the "quality" signings made by new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho have given the Red Devils a "massive lift".

The 20-time English champions have bought four players this summer in Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba, and three games into the new Premier League season, the club have a 100% win record.

Scholes told Sky Sports News: "The quality of the players [Mourinho] has brought in, that's the biggest difference.

"Every player has started the season well. There has been confidence brought to the team. It gives you a massive lift when you sign big players like Pogba and Ibra.

"It gives you a massive lift all round the dressing room and your performance has to live up to what they expect and I think United players have done that so far."

Man Utd last won the Premier League crown in 2013, during Sir Alex Ferguson's final season in charge.
