Jose Mourinho: 'Manchester United deserved more comfortable victory over Hull'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho claims that his side deserved a "more comfortable" victory over Hull than the late 1-0 triumph they managed.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that his side deserved a "more comfortable" victory over Hull City this evening.

The Tigers looked to have held on for a stalemate at the KCOM Stadium to continue their unbeaten start to the season until Marcus Rashford clinched all three points for the visitors with a 92nd-minute winner.

The result sees Mourinho maintain his perfect start to his reign as United boss, and he heaped praise on the mentality of his side as they refused to give up the chase for a winner.

"We deserved it and in a more comfortable way. It is a great feeling when you win the points in the last minute," he told reporters.

"The boys were very strong and the second half was like going to fight against a wall. We had an amazing mentality. We were very strong and tried to create problems for the opposition. We tried and tried and got it.

"I tell the boys every day we have to go into every match to win. We must not be happy with less than a win. We know we will draw or lose matches but the mentality has to be go to win. Today they showed that."

United are one of only two teams to have won their opening three games of the season, alongside Chelsea.
