Morgan Schneiderlin: '£36m striker Anthony Martial is a star'

Morgan Schneiderlin predicts big things from Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial following his brace in the 3-2 win at Southampton.

Morgan Schneiderlin has hailed Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial after the £36m striker continued repaying his transfer fee with a brace in tonight's 3-2 win at Southampton.

The world's most expensive teenager, signed from AS Monaco on deadline day, cancelled out Graziano Pelle's opener, before capitalising on a glaring Maya Yoshida error to slot home a second after the break.

The 19-year-old has now struck three times in eight days following his debut goal in the 3-1 win over Liverpool, and Schneiderlin says that he will continue taking the Premier League by storm.

"He's like you see him in a game, very calm, very relaxed his head is on his shoulders," he told Sky Sports News.

"He's an amazing talent, many people would have been confused by the price tag but he came to the Premier League on his toes.

"He just wants to do the best, he's a very intelligent guy, very calm, has shown great composure, great skill and great power. He will be a great player for the future of Manchester United."

Juan Mata added a third midway through the second half, before Pelle headed home a second late on, but the Red Devils hung on at St Mary's.
