Michael Owen wants to prolong Manchester United career

Michael Owen has no plans to retire

Manchester United striker Michael Owen has insisted that he has no plans to hang up his boots.

The frontman, who turns 32 next month, has been plagued with injuries during his career but believes that he can still compete at the top level.

"I'm 31, so I'd still like to think I've got a few years left in me when you look at players like [Ryan Giggs]," Owen told Sky Sports News.

"And while they are playing in their mid to late-thirties, that is great for us all, really.

"But I'd like to think I've got a few years left in me and I still love the game. How can't you love it when you are playing for such a top club like Manchester United? "

The former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker suffered a thigh injury during the Red Devils' 2-0 win over Otelul Galati in the Champions League last week.
