Juan Mata: 'Manchester United can still win Premier League title'

New Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata insists that the club can still win the Premier League this season despite trailing the leaders by 14 points.

New Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has expressed his belief that the club can still win the Premier League title this season.

United have had a poor campaign by their own standards this term, already losing seven games and sitting 14 points behind leaders Arsenal with just 16 games remaining.

"What I liked most about this club is the character. If another club was in this position, it would be very difficult for them to come back and take first in the league," PA quotes Mata as saying.

"This club can do it. This club is used to fighting to the end. This is the real image I have of Manchester United; always trying to win every title and always coming back from difficult moments."

Mata, who joined the Red Devils for a club-record fee of £37.1m, will wear the number eight shirt at Old Trafford.
