Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini concedes that "it is impossible" for his side to win the Premier League this season.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has conceded that it is "impossible" for his side to win the Premier League this season.

With eight games left to play City are currently 15 points behind rivals Manchester United.

Despite beating Newcastle United 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium, Mancini admitted that his side's hopes are over.

He told reporters: "It is impossible to win the title but it is important to finish well. Now we have two months and it is important to stay in form."

Strikes from Carlos Tevez, David Silva, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure helped City hammer the Magpies.
