Manchester United reportedly plan to step up their manager search with Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui among the candidates.

Manchester United have reportedly narrowed down their search for a new permanent manager to four potential candidates.

Current interim coach Ralf Rangnick is set to move into a consultancy role when his time in the dugout finishes, which is due to be at the end of the 2021-22 season.

While Rangnick attempts to secure a top-four finish with Man United, the powers-that-be at Old Trafford are working to find a permanent replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was sacked in November.

According to The Athletic, four high-profile names are now on Man United's wishlist, with Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Julen Lopetegui and Luis Enrique all being eyed up by Old Trafford chiefs.

The report adds that the Red Devils will now step up their search for a new man in the dugout after narrowing down their candidate list, and the club supposedly want to appoint a new boss before the end of the season.

Rangnick oversaw a 1-0 win over West Ham United at the weekend thanks to Marcus Rashford's last-gasp goal, which propelled the Red Devils back into the Champions League places.
