Manchester United could appoint their next head coach before the end of the 2021-22 campaign, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly appoint their next head coach before the end of the campaign.

Ralf Rangnick will manage the 20-time English champions for the rest of the 2021-22 season before taking on a two-year consultancy role at Old Trafford.

Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax's Erik ten Hag are both believed to be under consideration by the club to become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's long-term replacement at Old Trafford.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man United could appoint their next permanent manager before the end of the season, with football director John Murtough in charge of the process.

The report claims that Pochettino and Ten Hag are 'the frontrunners', but Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers is still being considered by the Red Devils.

Man United, who will be back in Premier League action against Brentford on Wednesday night, are currently seventh in the table, five points behind fourth-placed West Ham United with two games in hand on the Hammers.
