Jones praises United's fighting spirit

Phil Jones has said that Manchester United have a good chance of winning the Premier League title, thanks to their fighting spirit.

United are currently second in the Premier League, three points off leaders and local rivals Manchester City.

"We just have to get on with it. It's about how we manage and cope with injuries," Jones said.

"We've been a bit unfortunate but are still up there fighting with the best. I am excited and I'm loving it.

"But it's an even nicer feeling knowing you are just about top of the table with a fantastic chance of winning the English title again."

The 19-year-old said that tonight's Premier League clash at Newcastle will be tough.

"Newcastle can be a daunting place to go. It's a great atmosphere," he said.

"They have passionate fans and it will be another difficult game.

"When the chips are down, you see who the real fighters are. When we kick off every week, we have 11 people fighting on that pitch to win a match. That is the beauty of Manchester United."

United enjoy a 15-point lead over seventh-placed Newcastle.
