Phil Jones "delighted" with new Manchester United contract

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is delighted to put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until at least 2019.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has expressed his delight at signing a new four-year contract at Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old defender, who made his debut for the Red Devils in 2011 following his move from Blackburn Rovers, has put pen to paper on a deal until 2019 with the option of an extra year.

Jones told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have signed a new deal. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and am looking forward to continuing my development as a player.

"This is a great club to be part of and I cannot wait to start the new campaign. I would like to thank the manager, coaching staff and fans for their continued support."

Jones has made 128 appearances for United and helped the club win the Premier League title in 2013.
