Javier Hernandez "dreamed" of joining Real Madrid

Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez claims that his summer loan move to Real Madrid was 'a dream'.

Javier Hernandez has claimed that he had always "dreamed" of joining Real Madrid.

The Mexican international is still officially contracted to Manchester United, but joined Los Blancos on a season-long loan in the summer.

As it stands, 'Chicharito' will return to Old Trafford this summer, although it is understood that Madrid have the option to make the move permanent at the end of this season.

"They thought I couldn't help any more at United so we decided by mutual agreement that I would leave," he told ESPN.

"It was difficult, although I had offers from other teams , but when I got the opportunity to come to Real Madrid I didn't hesitate.

"It was the toughest challenge and the one that gave me the least chances [of first team football], but these are the challenges I like and the ones I've worked for all my life. I dreamed of being here. How am I going to say no to the best club in the world?"

Hernandez has scored three league goals for Madrid this season.
