Ryan Giggs will reportedly meet with Jose Mourinho for face-to-face talks next week over his Manchester United future.
The Welshman's Old Trafford tenure is expected to come to an end this summer after nearly 30 years at the club in a playing and coaching capacity.
Reports emerged earlier this month suggesting that Giggs was interested in becoming a manager in his own right, following three years working as an assistant to David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, with Nottingham Forest a potential destination.
According to The Sun, the 42-year-old's future will be sorted in the coming days when he meets with new boss Mourinho, although he is said to be unwilling to take on a lesser role.
Rui Faria will become Mourinho's assistant at United, a role he also had at Chelsea, meaning that club legend Giggs - a part of the Red Devils' set-up for the past 29 years - is expected to depart and take on a new position elsewhere.
Giggs won 35 trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two Champions League crowns, during his playing days with United.
