Ryan Giggs eager for new Manchester United contract

Giggs eyes new Man United deal

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has admitted that he wants to pen a one-year contract extension with the Red Devils.

The 37-year-old, who has scored twice this season, has not joined former teammates Gary Neville and Paul Scholes in retirement and is instead hoping to prolong his playing career.

"After Christmas I will go to Ferguson's office and we'll talk about my renewal," calciomercato.com quotes Giggs as saying. "I have a wonderful relationship with him. He's an exceptional person. He is always willing to listen.

"I have spoken to him for a few minutes about extending my contract for another year. I want to play on, I care for nothing more than playing for my team."

The former Wales international is likely to be on the bench for the Premier League champions' visit to Anfield tomorrow.
