Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand says that he is excited about the "lively start" of the 2013-14 Premier League campaign.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has expressed his excitement for the new Premier League season.

The English champions will begin the defence of their title with an away trip to Swansea City, while a clash against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Old Trafford awaits new United manager David Moyes the following weekend.

Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: "Fixtures out. Lively start to the season! Let us at them. Anyone else get chills as the fixtures came out. Love this!"

After facing Chelsea, the Red Devils will go up against arch rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
