Ferdinand considering England retirement

Rio Ferdinand is considering quitting the England national team, according to The Mirror.

The defender, who was left out of Manchester United's 1-0 win against Everton on Saturday, is reportedly hoping to prolong his club career.

The 32-year-old was left out of Fabio Capello's last squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.

Ferdinand made his England debut against Cameroon in 1997.
