Manchester United defender Patrice Evra accuses Liverpool striker Luis Suarez of making racist comments towards him, according to French media reports.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has reportedly accused Liverpool striker Luis Suarez of making racist remarks towards him during the sides' 1-1 draw at Anfield.

The two players both had to be spoken to by referee Andre Marriner about their conduct during the match.

However, Evra has claimed in an interview with French televsion channel Canal+ that the Uruguayan racially abused him.

"There are cameras, and you can see him say a certain word to me at least ten times... No place for that in 2011," said the Frenchman.

"The referee is aware of what was said."

The Football Association have said that they will investigate the incident.
