Erik ten Hag plays down Man United talk

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has played down reports linking him with the Manchester United job.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer overseeing four defeats from his last six Premier League games in charge, senior players at Old Trafford supposedly want to see the Norwegian given the boot.

Ten Hag is one of several names to have been linked with the Red Devils job, but the Ajax boss has affirmed that he remains content in Amsterdam.

When asked about his post-Ajax plans during an interview with ESPN, the 51-year-old said: "I live in the present, so I find it hard to answer this.

"I always want to improve my team, and as long as I feel this motivation I want to keep going, if Ajax wants that too. I am happy at Ajax. I have a very good relationship with the board and I'm managing a very strong squad."

Ten Hag has claimed two Eredivisie crowns from his time in charge of Ajax and has won 135 of his 184 games with the Dutch giants.
