Erik ten Hag will not be on the touchline for Manchester United's next Premier League match against Everton due to a suspension.

Erik ten Hag will not be on the touchline for Manchester United's next Premier League match against Everton after the international break due to a one-game suspension.

The Dutchman was handed a yellow card during Saturday's 1-0 win over Luton Town in the Premier League, and the booking proved to be the third of the season for the Red Devils head coach.

As a result, Ten Hag will serve a one-match ban, meaning that he will be missing from the touchline when Man United continue their league campaign at Everton on November 26.

The 53-year-old said that he was unhappy with the decision to award Luton a throw in the second period, which led to him showing his frustration to the officials.

Ten Hag has said that his coaching staff "are very competent to do the job" against Everton.

"Yes, that's the way [it is]," he told beIN Sports when asked about the ban. "So I have to accept that. It's not nice but I'm sure we'll prepare for Everton and my coaching staff will take over, they are very competent to do the job."

Meanwhile, during his post-match press conference, he told reporters: "So that was about a moment so clear, it was a throw-in.

"But it was the second time. I was on top of it and it was so clear and obvious [it was] our ball. It was my remark, therefore, I got booked."

When asked whether he would fine himself, the Dutchman added: "If the players get a red card, they probably get fined. But, for a booking, they don't get fined. There is a certain point you have to accept decisions, what I should do as well."

Ten Hag secured his 30th Premier League win on Saturday in his 50th match - the same number that the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson managed.

Man United have lost five times in the league this term, but seven wins have seen them collect 21 points, which has left them in sixth position in the table heading into the international break.

Casemiro, Jonny Evans, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo all missed the win over Luton through injury, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka was unwell.

Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were then forced off during the match with injuries, and Ten Hag has hailed his players for their ability to cope with an ever-changing team.

"We are also stepping up – even with the team we have, we often have to change," he added. "We are stepping up, with better football, better performances.

"In the last five league games, we won four and, as you know, it's not easy to win games in the Premier League because every one is a battle. I'm pleased with that. It is a signal that we are in the right direction."

After the clash with Everton, Man United will head to Turkey for a must-win contest with Galatasaray in the Champions League, with the team still having a chance of reaching the round of 16.
