Eric Dier slams "ridiculous" Ander Herrera following alleged elbow incident

England's Eric Dier slams "ridiculous" Ander Herrera after the Spain midfielder allegedly elbowed him in last night's international friendly at Wembley.

Eric Dier has hit out at Ander Herrera by accusing the Manchester United midfielder of elbowing him during Tuesday night's international friendly between England and Spain at Wembley.

The two confronted one another after the alleged incident occurred five minutes from time in the match, which ended with England conceding two goals in the 89th and 96th minutes from Iago Aspas and Isco.

The Three Lions were leading the way with goals from Adam Lallana and Jamie Vardy, but in the end they were forced to accept a 2-2 draw on home soil.

After the match, Dier was unhappy with Herrera's conduct, describing the midfielder's antics as "ridiculous", and suggested that the tension could spill into Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League match against United next month.

"I think it's pretty clear what he did and I can feel it on my cheek now," Dier told reporters. "I've made a pass and it was a long time afterwards [that] he's elbowed me in the face, and I just can't see why.

"For me, it's just ridiculous. So I know what he did, and I don't like that kind of stuff. I don't mind people kicking each other at times and stuff, but that's just dirty and not needed.

"I don't need him to apologise. I'll see him soon. These things happen, but I don't know why he did it, to be honest. That's why I was angry. It was just strange and it's not nice."

Spurs will face the Red Devils at Old Trafford on December 11.
