Butt eyes management role

Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has said that he wishes to go into management one day.

The 36-year-old, who retired this year, has started his coaching badges and revealed that he observes his old club at their Carrington training facility.

"I've started my badges now and am getting the hours in," Butt told United's official website.

"I'll get assessed in the next five or six months. I go to Carrington a lot and just watch, I don't really take any of the sessions.

"I know for a fact management is what I want to do. Whether I'll be good at it is another thing. We'll see."

During a 20-year playing career, Butt also enjoyed spells at Newcastle United, Birmingham City and South China.
