Manchester United defender Eric Bailly handed three-match ban by UEFA

UEFA has handed a three-match ban to Manchester United's Eric Bailly.

In the second leg of United's Europa League semi-final with Celta Vigo, Bailly was sent off for his part in a mass brawl which also saw Facundo Roncaglia dismissed by the referee.

Bailly had initially been required to serve a one-match suspension, which led to him missing the final, but UEFA has now ruled that he must sit out a further two fixtures.

The Ivorian will now miss the Super Cup final against Real Madrid at the start of August, while he will also be absent from United's first game in this season's Champions League.

United have also been warned for the late kickoff to the same fixture, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Bailly made a total of 11 starts during United's run to the final, which they won by a 2-0 scoreline over Ajax.
