Carlo Ancelotti would consider managing Manchester United

Carlo Ancelotti admits that he would hold an interest in managing Manchester United if the post became available.

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he would consider managing Manchester United should the opportunity arise.

The 56-year-old has been out of the game since he was sacked by Real Madrid in May, and has admitted that he would relish a return to the Premier League.

He told The Independent: "Of course, for every manager, they would all think of managing Manchester United."

Ancelotti added on a potential return to management: "I will continue to wait. If I don't find a club with a good project, I can wait. What will I do? Watching games, fishing, all these things. But let us see next summer. I will not take a job in mid-season, but I would like to work again next summer.

"I would like to come back in a club with a good project, but, of course, one that is competitive. The Premier League is the best in the sense of atmosphere, ambience. It is also competitive, so I would like to come back, especially for the atmosphere."

Ancelotti won the Premier League title with Chelsea in the 2009-10 campaign.
