Massimiliano Allegri 'has deal in place with English club' amid Man United links

Allegri 'has deal in place with English club'

Massimiliano Allegri has allegedly agreed to take charge of a Premier League club in the summer.

Having ended his hugely-successful period at Juventus last summer, Allegri opted to take a year-long sabbatical ahead of returning to the dugout in 2020.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian is prepared to reject interest from his homeland in order to link up with an English team.

The report says that terms have already been discussed with an unnamed side, leading to the 52-year-old shunning enquiries from former clubs Juventus and AC Milan.

Allegri has previously been linked with Manchester United, who may consider a managerial change should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer not earn qualification for next season's Champions League.

With Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal having only recently appointed Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta respectively, United appears to be the only realistic option for Allegri at this stage.
