Sergio Aguero: 'Seven teams in title race, not just Chelsea, Manchester City'

Sergio Aguero believes that there are seven teams in contention for the Premier League title, not just Manchester City and Chelsea.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero believes that seven teams remain in contention for the Premier League title.

Chelsea and City are the current frontrunners for the coveted trophy, with the former seven points above Manuel Pellegrini's side at the top of the table.

While many have suggested that it is a two-horse race, Aguero believes that Arsenal, Manchester United, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are all threats.

"There is a long way to go and a lot of games to play so anything is possible," Aguero told City's official website. "Right now, it's anyone's title and it's not just two sides competing - there are many teams that are still in the hunt.

"Arsenal and United are back on their feet, Southampton are not far behind and Liverpool and the Spurs have all shown good form, too.

"I believe this will be one of the most highly contested Premier Leagues of recent years and we will be giving everything to retain our title."

City won their second league title in three years last season by two points.
