Adnan Januzaj: 'Moyes gives me confidence'

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has said that he is hoping to 'prove himself' at Sunderland after being given a platform to succeed by David Moyes.

The Belgium international has endured a frustrating time at Old Trafford since making an impressive breakthrough under Moyes in 2013.

Januzaj was recently given permission by United to link up with his former boss at Sunderland on an initial loan deal, where the 21-year-old is hoping to prove his worth by playing football on a regular basis.

"The manager has given me the opportunity to come here and prove myself again," he told the Black Cats' official website. "I came here to play games and I'm looking forward to working with David Moyes again.

"I always enjoyed playing in his team with the freedom and the confidence he gives me. Once you have that confidence you can do things and make things happen.

"We have a very good group with nice lads and very good coaches, so I'm happy to be here and obviously the fans are unbelievable so I'm looking forward to the start of the new season."

Moyes also lured Paddy McNair and Donald Love to Sunderland last week, both of whom he managed during his ill-fated tenure at United in the 2013-14 season.
