Park turns down Olympic chance

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to represent South Korea at this summer's Olympics to help his club win a 20th Premier League title.

The 30-year-old announced his retirement from the international scene at the end of January.

"I was called but I had to say no," Park told Nemzeti Sport. "I know how it is like at the Olympics because I was involved in Sydney (2000).

"I have 100 caps, but this period of my life is over for me. I want to concentrate on my club from now on.

"This is my seventh year at Old Trafford. I won four titles but I want to win the Premier League this year more than ever."

Park moved to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in 2005.
