How Man United could line up against Crystal Palace

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is expected to make changes to his starting side for Tuesday's EFL Cup third-round contest with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils ended a three-game losing run on Saturday by recording a 1-0 win over Burnley, but the goalscorer in that match, Bruno Fernandes, is one of a number of players set to be given a rest.

Altay Bayindir is in line to make his debut between the sticks, while Sofyan Amrabat could come in for his full debut, having featured off the bench late on against Burnley.

Facundo Pellistri, Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho are also likely to be introduced into the starting side, with Ten Hag expected to rest Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.

Hannibal Mejbri was impressive against Burnley and could start against Palace in the league next weekend, so he might be held back on Tuesday.

Sergio Reguilon's fitness will need to be assessed, as he came off late on against Burnley due to illness, while Jonny Evans, who was excellent against the Clarets, could make a second successive start.

Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Mason Mount will all need to be assessed ahead of this match due to recent injuries.

However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo are still definitely out, while Antony and Jadon Sancho remain absent due to personal issues.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: Bayindir; Dalot, Lindelof, Evans, Reguilon; McTominay, Amrabat, Eriksen; Pellistri, Martial, Garnacho
