Dean Holdsworth: "Man United will bounce back"

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth describes Manchester United as "wounded" ahead of their Carling Cup tie tomorrow evening.

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has insisted that his side's next opponents Manchester United will "bounce back" from their 6-1 defeat by local rivals Manchester City yesterday.

Holdsworth's League Two side entertain the Premier League champions in a Carling Cup tie tomorrow and the boss has played down the impact that the derby loss will have on Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

"The most important thing for me as a manager is making sure I look after my own house," Holdsworth told Sky Sports News. "Any side that is coming down from Manchester United we know that we have to give them full respect.

"Yes they're wounded but I'm sure they've got enough leaders in their camp to deal with defeat and that is all it has been. It is the three points that they have dropped.

"I'm sure Manchester United will bounce back from that."

Holdsworth also revealed that people have been working around the clock to prepare for United's visit to the Recreation Ground.

"I'm proud and we're honoured to be hosting Manchester United," added the 42-year-old. "Everybody at the club has been working tirelessly to be accommodating to Manchester United.

"We hope to do ourselves proud as a football club."

Aldershot are currently 15th in the League Two table.
