Manchester United will head on their travels for next month's EFL Cup quarter-final after being drawn against Manchester City's conquerors Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United have been handed an away clash against Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup quarter-final draw.

The Red Devils played host to Leicester City on Wednesday evening in what was their first game following Erik ten Hag's dismissal.

Under the watch of interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, Man United produced a free-scoring display to clinch a 5-2 victory in the EFL Cup fourth-round tie.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes scored braces alongside an Alejandro Garnacho effort to fire the Red Devils into the quarter-final draw.

Man United's reward for their commanding win is an away tie against Tottenham, who will be looking to complete the Manchester double after eliminating Man City in the fourth round.

Timo Werner and Pape Sarr grabbed a goal apiece to help Spurs clinch a 2-1 home victory in Wednesday's home clash against Pep Guardiola's side.

Arsenal handed home quarter-final tie

Arsenal continued their EFL Cup campaign with a dominant 3-0 away victory over Championship side Preston North End.

After cruising through to the quarter-finals, Arsenal can now look forward to a home tie with fellow London side Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are set to face the Gunners in the EFL Cup for the first time since 1992-93 after getting the better of Aston Villa in their fourth-round tie.

Eberechi Eze and Daichi Kamada both got on the scoresheet to clinch a narrow 2-1 victory over Unai Emery's side at Villa Park.

Liverpool to head back to the South coast

The current holders sealed their place in the quarter-finals with an entertaining 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Arne Slot's side will have to travel back down to the South coast for their last-eight tie after being drawn against Southampton.

As for Newcastle United, they will play host to Brentford which will see them face another West London club at St. James Park after eliminating Chelsea in the fourth round.

The Bees will make their first quarter-final appearance since 2021-22 thanks to their penalty-shootout success against Sheffield Wednesday.

These quarter-final ties will take place the week commencing December 16.
