Tom Cleverley: 'Manchester United have altered priorities'

Tom Cleverley says that Manchester United have changed their priorities for the year after a poor first half of the season.

Tom Cleverley has admitted that Manchester United have been forced into rethinking their priorities after their poor first half to the season.

United, who have already been knocked out of the FA Cup, head into Wednesday's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Sunderland at Old Trafford knowing that their hopes of retaining their Premier League crown have all but disappeared already this term.

"We have had to rethink our targets for the year but this club is about winning trophies," Cleverley said on Sky Sports News.

"We are still well in the Champions League and are in the semi-final of the cup.

"We have to shoot ourselves up the league, then hopefully we can end the season positively."

United's aim of scraping a top-four spot would represent their lowest finish of the entire Premier League era in David Moyes's first season as manager.
