Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim hopes that Leny Yoro will be fit for the Europa League final despite limping off the field against West Ham United.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim remains hopeful that Leny Yoro will be fit for the Europa League final despite limping off the field against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Yoro had to be replaced in the early stages of the second half against the Hammers, and he was seen limping away from Old Trafford after Man United's latest Premier League defeat.

The Frenchman will be assessed by Man United's medical staff on Monday, but he is naturally now a huge doubt for the final of the Europa League against Tottenham Hotspur, which will take place in Bilbao on May 21.

Yoro missed the opening months of the 2024-25 campaign due to a metatarsal injury, although the extent of the issue that he suffered against Graham Potter's side on Sunday is unclear at this stage of proceedings.

"He had that problem at the beginning of the season. We hope it's not too serious. I don't want to say too much but maybe it's not a big deal," Amorim told Sky Sports News.

Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen scored the goals as West Ham triumphed on Sunday, with Man United losing for the 17th time during what has been a disastrous Premier League campaign.

"If you look at the goals that we suffer we can avoid these goals. The lack of energy, of urgency. That is the most dangerous thing in this club. You can feel it at the beginning of the game. Between our box and opponent's box there is a lack of urgency. That is something we have to change in this club," said Amorim.

"I am responsible for that. It is frustrating because we are so near the goals. We have such a lack of urgency to protect our goal. This is week by week. We don't play so well in the Europa League but we have a different sense of urgency.

"It's something we need to work on. It's inside the pitch and outside the pitch. If we are not able to do we have to go away and give the space to different people. All of us.

"We are going to face a team from Premier League so we are going to struggle. Of course we are going to be more focused, and that is a concern because we have to be focused every game. For me it doesn't matter if we win the Europa League because the problems are much bigger than that."

Will De Ligt, Heaven be fit for Europa League final?

Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven are also currently on the sidelines, so Yoro's absence would give Man United a major problem for the Europa League final, with Victor Lindelof expected to start if that is the case.

Both De Ligt and Heaven have chances to be fit for the final, though, with the former in line to return against Chelsea next Friday with a view to being involved against Tottenham.

Yoro's availability will become clearer as the days progress, but the Frenchman's reaction to his injury suggests that he believes it will be unlikely that he will recover in time for the final of the European competition.
