Louis van Gaal: 'No Radamel Falcao injury'

Injury is not keeping Radamel Falcao out of the Manchester United squad for the match against Southampton, according to manager Louis van Gaal.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Radamel Falcao has not been omitted from his Manchester United squad for today's clash against Southampton because of injury.

The Colombian, who is on loan at Old Trafford from Monaco, has started all of United's last four matches.

It was expected that he would feature against the Saints this afternoon, but he has been replaced in the starting lineup by Angel di Maria and does not even feature among the substitutes.

That had resulted in speculation that the 28-year-old had suffered a fresh injury problem, but Van Gaal has revealed that he simply opted against including the striker in his matchday 18.

News of the omission has cast doubts as to whether United intend to sign the former Atletico Madrid frontman on a permanent basis.
