Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim admits that "it's hard to know" the extent of Ayden Heaven's injury at this stage of proceedings.

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has admitted that "it's hard to know" the extent of Ayden Heaven's injury at this stage of proceedings, with the centre-back set to be assessed by the club's medical stuff next week.

Heaven, 18, started a second successive match for Man United on Sunday night, being named in the XI against Leicester City.

The ex-Arsenal youngster was excellent in the first half of the match, but he had to be replaced early in the second period following a tangle of legs with Leicester forward Patson Daka.

Amorim has said that Heaven, who was stretchered off, will be assessed by the medical team before any announcement on a potential injury is made.

"It's hard to know because we have to evaluate during the week. He already played well against Arsenal and Real Sociedad. Today for me was the most difficult game for him because we expect him to relax a bit, but he was so focused," Amorim told Sky Sports News.

"It was clear today my players are at the limit. We are going to use this window to rest and recover, it will be good. The feeling is completely different. When we return it will be like starting from scratch."

Heaven was stretchered off in Man United's win over Leicester

Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho both ended goalscoring droughts in Man United's win over Leicester, while Bruno Fernandes was also on the scoresheet in the latter stages of the contest.

"I think it was good. I felt a little bit of a lack of energy, but they gave everything. Some players were tired but I think we deserved the win. We controlled the game. We could have been better with the ball but I understand after these two weeks. It was a perfect way to end this week with our away supporters. They are amazing," Amorim added after the match before addressing Hojlund's goal.

"A difficult goal with difficult control with his right foot. It's a shame we stop for the national teams becaus we have confidence."

Man United will be bidding to make it successive Premier League wins for the first time this season when they take on Nottingham Forest in their first match after the international break on April 1.

Heaven has joined an injury list which includes Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Altay Bayindir, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton, but Mason Mount was back on the bench against Leicester.
