Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick discusses the fitness of his squad ahead of Sunday's trip to Crystal Palace.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that the Red Devils will have "quite a few missing" for Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

The 20-time English champions will head to Selhurst Park sitting sixth in the table, two points clear of seventh-placed West Ham United, who travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on the final day.

Sixth spot in the division would bring a spot in next season's Europa League, while seventh would see the Red Devils drop into the Europa Conference League.

Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have all been back in training this week following recent issues, but Rangnick has said that Shaw and Sancho are major doubts.

Speaking during his press conference, the interim head coach revealed that there would be "quite a few missing", while there are "a few with question marks", including Phil Jones.

"We once again have quite a few players missing and a few with question marks, quite a few missing," Rangnick said on Friday afternoon.

"A few are still question marks. Luke Shaw's wife gave birth to their second baby today, we have to wait and see. Today's training one of two couldn't finish, Jadon Sancho and Phil Jones."

Youngster Alejandro Garnacho is also a major doubt for the clash at Selhurst Park through illness, having only returned to training on Friday.

"Unfortunately Alejandro was ill in the last couple of days. Today his first back, he might be back but not sure if he is physically fit to play," Rangnick added.

Rashford could be available for selection, having missed the defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last time out through illness, but Eric Bailly remains a major doubt due to a back problem.

Paul Pogba is also likely to miss out with the calf injury that he picked up against Liverpool in the middle of last month, so the Frenchman could have played his final game for Man United, while Mason Greenwood remains suspended by the club.

Rangnick will step down from his role as interim head coach following the clash with Palace, with Erik ten Hag set to take charge of the club.

Ten Hag is due to be in attendance at Selhurst Park on Sunday, with the Dutchman already flying to England despite only finishing his Eredivisie campaign at Ajax last weekend.

Man United would secure sixth position with a victory over Palace, but a defeat or draw would open the door for West Ham to claim the Europa League spot for next term.
