Manchester United's Paddy McNair picks up "ankle problem"

An "ankle problem" may keep Paddy McNair out of Manchester United's final Champions League group encounter away at Wolfsburg.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that Paddy McNair is a doubt for Tuesday evening's crucial Champions League group encounter against Wolfsburg.

The 20-year-old picked up an "ankle problem" during yesterday's 0-0 draw with West Ham United at Old Trafford.

While Van Gaal is hopeful that the Northern Ireland international will be available for the clash in Germany, he told MUTV: "It is a very short [turnaround], so it is a very big question mark."

United must beat Wolfsburg to secure their passage into the knockout stages of the competition, while anything less would provide PSV Eindhoven with the chance to advance at the Premier League side's expense.
