Manchester United's Luke Shaw pictured without crutches

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw walks without crutches at the club's Christmas party less than two months after he suffered a double leg break.

Luke Shaw attended Manchester United's Christmas party last night without the aid of crutches.

The left-back has been sidelined since September because of the double leg break that he suffered during United's Champions League clash away at PSV Eindhoven.

Manager Louis van Gaal recently revealed that the 20-year-old was "progressing well" in his recovery, but he refused to put a date on any potential comeback.

However, the fact that Shaw was able to walk into Manchester's Place Aparthotel less than two months after the injury has resulted in suggestions that he could return to action before the end of the season, having previously thought to have been ruled out until the start of 2016-17.

Reports have claimed that Van Gaal insisted that United's celebrations should take place 51 days before December 25 because of the team's busy schedule over the festive period.
