Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they travel to Burnley on Saturday night.

The Red Devils recorded a 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day to move to within four points of fourth-placed Chelsea on the same number of matches.

Consistency has been a problem for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this season, though, and they now face a tough examination of their top-four credentials at Turf Moor.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Eric Bailly remains unavailable for selection as the centre-back looks to recover from his knee operation that took place over the summer. The Ivorian is believed to be entering the latter stages of his recovery but this match will come too soon for the former Villarreal defender.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is still recovering from the knee injury that he picked up while on loan at Fulham last season. The defender is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, and it is unclear whether he is in the long-term plans of Solskjaer.

Scott McTominay

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Burnley)

Scott McTominay picked up a knee injury during Thursday's win over Newcastle, and Solskjaer said after the match that the midfielder had damaged knee ligaments. The midfielder has not officially been ruled out of this contest, but it seems incredibly unlikely that he will be available.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Marcos Rojo has not played for United since the start of November due to a muscular problem, and the versatile defender will again be on the sidelines for Saturday's clash at Turf Moor.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Burnley)

Axel Tuanzebe was forced off during the EFL Cup clash with Colchester United on December 18 with a hamstring issue and has not been involved since. The centre-back remains a huge doubt for this game.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for the Premier League fixture.
