Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Manchester United will be bidding to return to winning ways on Sunday afternoon when they head to Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The Red Devils were on the verge of making it 10 straight victories in all competitions against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but the Eagles levelled the scores in second-half stoppage time through Michael Olise.

The result was enough for Erik ten Hag's side to jump one spot in the table, though, with 39 points from 19 matches leaving them third, level on points with second-placed Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Arsenal, who are eight points clear at the top of the table.

Jadon Sancho

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Fitness Possible return date: January 22 (vs. Arsenal)

Jadon Sancho again missed out against Palace, with the attacker recently undergoing an individual fitness programme, but he is now back in first-team training and could be involved on Sunday.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: Unknown

Axel Tuanzebe has stepped up his recovery from a long-term injury problem, but the centre-back remains on the sidelines for the 20-time English champions.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Donny van de Beek had to be substituted against Bournemouth earlier this month after suffering a serious knee injury. The midfielder has since undergone an operation, meaning that he will miss the remainder of the season.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: January 22 (vs. Arsenal)

Diogo Dalot has struggled with fitness problems since the World Cup, with a hamstring issue currently keeping him on the sidelines, and he remains a major doubt for the clash with Arsenal.

Anthony Martial

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Leg Possible return date: January 22 (vs. Arsenal)

Anthony Martial was not involved against Palace on Wednesday due to a minor leg injury, which he aggravated during the Manchester derby. However, the Frenchman is expected to return to the field on Sunday.

MAN UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Casemiro

Status: Out Possible return date: January 25 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Casemiro picked up a booking during the latter stages of the draw with Palace on Wednesday, which has ruled the Brazil international out of the contest with Arsenal.
