Man United injury, suspension news vs. Chelsea: Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt updates

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Friday night.

Manchester United are back in action on Friday evening when they square off against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Although the Red Devils have a Europa League final to look forward to, Ruben Amorim is aware that his side's form in England's top flight has been underwhelming.

On the back of losing 2-0 at home to West Ham United last time out, United will be at increasing risk of a 17th-placed finish in the table unless they register maximum points here.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to the capital to face their Champions-League-chasing opponents.

Leny Yoro

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: May 21 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Leny Yoro suffered a foot injury against West Ham and was immediately substituted. With the Europa League final on the horizon, it is safe to assume that the Frenchman will not be risked for this game, regardless of Amorim suggesting that the issue may not be serious.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: May 21 (vs. Tottenham)

While Diogo Dalot remains on the sidelines with a calf problem, Amorim has said that the Portugal international is working to be fit for the final of the Europa League against Tottenham Hotspur.

Lisandro Martinez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Lisandro Martinez suffered a severe knee injury during Man United's Premier League match against Crystal Palace on February 2, and the Argentina international is expected to be on the sidelines for the remainder of 2025.

Ayden Heaven

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: May 16 (vs. Chelsea)

The ankle injury that Ayden Heaven suffered against Leicester City before the international break was not as serious as first feared, and the centre-back was back on the bench against Newcastle United on April 13, but he has not featured since, and the ex-Arsenal youngster remains a major doubt for this contest.

Joshua Zirkzee

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Joshua Zirkzee is out for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, with the Netherlands international picking up a hamstring injury during the team's loss to Newcastle in the Premier League on April 13.

Toby Collyer

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: May 16 (vs. Chelsea)

Although Toby Collyer was initially said to have a small muscle issue, he has now been on the sidelines for over a month and remains a major doubt for this fixture.

Matthijs de Ligt

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: May 16 (vs. Chelsea)

Matthijs de Ligt has missed the last two matches with a knee injury with Amorim previously suggesting that things will be taken "day-by-day". As a result of Yoro also being an injury doubt for the Europa League final, the Netherlands international may not be risked here.
