Vidic: FA Cup is "important"

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has insisted that the club are taking the FA Cup seriously this season.

With the Red Devils also competing for the Premier League title and the Champions League, some pundits had previously suggested that the FA Cup would hold less significance for them.

However, speaking after yesterday's 2-2 draw at West Ham United, Vidic was adamant that the entire squad want to end their nine-year wait for the trophy.

"We believe it's important. We didn't win the trophy for the last eight years and it's a trophy we're looking to win," he told MUTV.

"We showed today in how we celebrated the goal, and I'm hoping at home it will be a different game. I think we have a big squad and we can manage to have one more game."

United's replay against the Hammers will take place a week on Wednesday.
