Manchester United's Louis van Gaal happy to face Arsenal in FA Cup quarters

Louis van Gaal says that he is "very happy" that Manchester United will play holders Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he is "very happy" to have drawn holders Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The Red Devils will take on Arsene Wenger's team at Old Trafford after coming from behind to secure a 3-1 triumph over Preston North End last night.

"We have a draw at home, which is important in FA Cup matches," Van Gaal told reporters. "I am pleased we can play against Arsenal and at home. Every game in the FA Cup is difficult to win because every team is giving everything.

"You have seen it also in this round, how many better situated teams have lost so I don't think that of course when you play against a lower team then the chance to win is always bigger. I am very happy we can play now against Arsenal and for the first time we play at home."

The other quarter-finals include a home tie for Liverpool against Blackburn Rovers, a clash between Premier League sides Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion, and Bradford City will play Reading for a place in the semi-finals.
