Ray Parlour wants Arsenal to attack Manchester United

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes that the Gunners should look to hit Manchester United on the counter-attack in their FA Cup quarter-final this evening.

Ray Parlour has claimed that former club Arsenal should look to pick off Manchester United on the break in their FA Cup quarter-final this evening.

The holders will make the trip to Old Trafford looking to end a run of 10 games without a victory at the venue and book their place in the last four of the competition.

Arsenal produced an effective counter-attacking display when they beat Premier League champions Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium in January, and Parlour thinks that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger should use that result for inspiration.

"Arsene Wenger has to look at that [City performance] again," Parlour told Sky Sports News.

"I'm sure they'll be looking at videos back of that win and saying this is how we've got to set up against Manchester United.

"Manchester United are playing at home. They're expected to forward and make chances. The Old Trafford crowd will be urging their team to go forward and make chances. I'm sure that Man City template is how they have to set up tonight and make it difficult for Manchester United."

Arsenal's last victory at Old Trafford was in 2006.
