How Manchester United could line up against AZ

Ahead of Thursday's Europa League fixture between Manchester United and AZ, Sports Mole looks at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could line up at Old Trafford.

Manchester United head into their Europa League encounter with AZ requiring a draw in order to finish at the top of Group L.

Despite using his squad players for the majority of the group stages, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has witnessed his side pick up 10 points from five fixtures.

However, should United suffer defeat on Thursday night, Dutch team AZ will progress through to the last 32 ahead of their English hosts.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how the Premier League giants could line up for the clash at Old Trafford.

Despite the rewards on offer for avoiding defeat on Thursday evening, Solskjaer is still expected to make mass alterations to his starting lineup.

Academy graduates Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams should feature at the back, while Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood are expected to be involved further forward.

After spending over two months on the sidelines, Nemanja Matic is in line to be named in the first XI, potentially alongside Andreas Pereira.

Juan Mata should get the nod over Jesse Lingard in a creative role, with Ashley Young adding more experience to the team at right-back.

Providing that he has fully recovered from a muscle injury, Marcos Rojo will be in contention to return at the back, although this game is likely to come too soon for Paul Pogba as he continues to regain full fitness after an ankle problem.
