Man United lineup vs. Lyon: Predicted XI for Europa League quarter-final second-leg tie

Amorim's big Onana decision: Predicted Man United lineup vs. Lyon

Manchester United are set to be without eight players for Thursday's Europa League quarter-final second-leg clash with Lyon at Old Trafford.

Joshua Zirkzee, who scored in last week's 2-2 first-leg draw, was forced off with a hamstring injury in the 4-1 Premier League defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday and the striker has since been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Thursday's game will come too soon for Matthijs de Ligt (ankle), while Lisandro Martinez (knee), Amad Diallo, Ayden Heaven (both ankle), Jonny Evans (back) and Toby Collyer (leg) also remain in the treatment room.

With teenager Chido Obi-Martin ineligible for Europe, Rasmus Hojlund could be the only natural striker available to Amorim and he is likely to be joined in attack by captain Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho, who ended his 27-game goal drought by netting against Newcastle last time out.

After making two errors leading to goals in the first leg, Andre Onana was left out of the matchday squad on Sunday by Amorim, who wanted the goalkeeper to "disconnect a little bit" following a challenging period between the sticks. However, Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Onana will be recalled on Thursday at the expense of Altay Bayindir.

Harry Maguire is set to replace Victor Lindelof and join Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui in a three-man backline, while left wing-back Patrick Dorgu is expected to return at the expense of teenager Harry Amass as Diogo Dalot continues on the right.

Manuel Ugarte could be handed his sixth successive start in midfield and will likely partner Casemiro, who is set to replace Christian Eriksen, although Mason Mount will be hoping to force his way into the first XI.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro; Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu; Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
