Liverpool draw Manchester United in Europa League last 16

Liverpool draw arch rivals Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League, while Tottenham Hotspur are paired with Borussia Dortmund.

Arch rivals Liverpool and Manchester United will go head to head in the last 16 of the Europa League.

The North-West enemies, who secured progression into the round last night, were paired in Friday's draw in Nyon.

The two most successful clubs in England will meet in a European competition for the first time ever when United travel to Anfield for the first leg on March 10, with the second leg scheduled at Old Trafford on March 17.

The Merseyside outfit came through their last-32 tie by sealing a 1-0 win over Augsburg on Thursday evening, while Louis van Gaal's United team overcame FC Midtjylland 5-1 at home.

Tottenham Hotspur completed the English contingent in the draw and they were paired with Borussia Dortmund - the former club of current Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Mauricio Pochettino's side, who are in contention for the Premier League title, earned their place in the last 16 following a 4-1 aggregate win over Fiorentina.

Gary Neville avoided a reunion with his former club United as his Valencia team were drawn against fellow Spanish side Athletic Bilbao.
