Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Sociedad

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Europa League last-32 second leg with Real Sociedad.

Manchester United will aim to advance into the Europa League last 16 with minimal difficulty when they face off against Real Sociedad on Thursday for the second leg of their last-32 tie at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men cruised to a 4-0 victory in the first leg and should book their spot in the next round with no trouble, unless the Spanish side can produce a monumental comeback.

The Red Devils head into this game following a 3-1 success over Newcastle United in the Premier League, where Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Bruno Fernandes all netted on Sunday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the second leg.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Paul Pogba has been in the treatment room since picking up a thigh injury against Everton earlier this month, and Solskjaer has now confirmed that the midfielder will be out for the rest of February.

Edinson Cavani

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Edinson Cavani missed the first leg and the weekend's visit of Newcastle due to a muscular problem, despite Solskjaer being previously optimistic over his fitness. However, the United boss has now confirmed that Cavani will indeed miss the second leg.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 28 (vs. Chelsea)

As is the case with Cavani, Donny van de Beek has missed United's last two matches with a muscular problem and was not ready to return against Newcastle. The out-of-favour midfielder would have been hopeful of earning some minutes this week, but he has also been ruled out.

Scott McTominay

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Scott McTominay was given the green light to line up against Sociedad in last week's first leg, but he had to come off with a knock after 60 minutes and did not feature at the weekend. Solskjaer admitted that he "did not know" how the midfielder was doing before the visit of Newcastle, and McTominay will not recover in time for Thursday.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones is United's only long-term absentee with the serious knee problem he has undergone surgery on, and the defender continues to work his way back to fitness, but he still has a long road ahead of him.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the second leg.
