Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic has revealed that he is planning to retire from international football after Serbia failed to qualify for Euro 2012.
The 29-year-old failed to convert a penalty in his country's 1-0 loss to Slovenia last night, a miss which cost his side a place in the play-offs.
"It's time for a change of generations and for some older players to say goodbye to the Serbian jersey," the defender said after the match.
Vidic, who has made 56 appearances for Serbia, is in contention to start for United against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
